The Latest On Chris Paul’s Status For Game 7

The Western Conference Finals has been a chaotic rollercoaster. The Warriors won Game 1 in Houston, and the Rockets responded, winning by 22 in Game 2.

The biggest difference between [the 2014-15 Rockets] and this year's version, which beat Golden State on Thursday night to pull within one game of an NBA Finals berth, is the presence of Chris Paul, one of the greatest point guards of all-time and still a force at age 33. The Golden State Warriors are averaging 109.6 points on 47.1 percent shooting and allowing 100.8 points on 42.8 percent shooting.

Harden led the Rockets with 32 points but had just 10 in the second half. "So far.we have to win", said Courtney Bell of Oakland, her fists clenched. However, the defending champions struggled from the floor, trailed by as many as 17 points and were down 51-41 at halftime.

The Warriors outscored the Rockets 64-25 in the second half, limiting Harden to 10 points after the break. The Warriors followed that up by limiting Houston to just nine points in the fourth, leading to a 26-point lead by the 4:30 mark. Of course not; Curry deserves a great deal of blame, as do Thompson and Green.

"I guess you could say I was born for it. Man, that felt good", Thompson said. But it's important to remember that the Warriors never needed Durant; he was the cherry on top of a formidable roster.

A final decision may not be made until Monday afternoon when team doctors are expected to evaluate him.

There will be a small glimmer of hope for Chris Paul to play in Game 7, however, Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni is not optimistic about it. Chris Paul will undergo more treatment in hopes that he can give it a try on Monday. Golden State opened the second half on an 11-0 scoring run, taking the lead for the first time since the opening minutes when Curry drained a three-pointer for a 62-61 advantage. He points that teams are more willing in the National Basketball Association to concede defeat when they know they are overmatched.

Of course, the Warriors have had health issues of their own in the series, with Andre Iguodala having missed Games 4 and 5 with a bruised left knee. "I used to be so hard on myself, especially early in my career", Thompson said. Some fans feared they wouldn't see one at the beginning of the game.

Stephen Curry said the Warriors are encouraged despite falling behind in the series because they believe both games could have gone their way and that a few simple corrections will get them back on track.

Meanwhile, Curry was vintage Curry, dropping 29 points, six assists and five rebounds while hitting 5-of-14 3-pointers as Kevin Durant added 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

The team that was built precisely to outgun Golden State four times in a playoff series couldn't miss in a game nobody thought they could win.

That would be quite staining, no? "You wake up that morning, and it's like, 'This is it.' This is the culmination of everything that's happened the last couple weeks".
