Airlines scrapped more than 4,400 flights within, to or from the United States, according to flight tracking website FlightAware, and more than 3,000 other USA flights were delayed as the latest "nor'easter" dumped snow and ice on New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, Reuters reported.

Region braced for late winter storm

The weather starts to improve by Tuesday and temperatures moderate.

Through the next 7 days we are all over the place on the temperature roller coaster as we head back to the 80's and 70's before yet another storm system! Snow will continue through the afternoon some heavy at times. The overnights will get rather cold, with lows in the low to mid 20s each of the next four nights. Highs near 50 with lows chilly in the mid 30s. Heavier amounts are likely north and east of Watertown. Despite the ridging beginning to build in, a weak low and front are expected to make it into the Southeast late in the weekend. Winds will be light on Saturday but will pick up again on Sunday. It will be another warm day with highs in the 50s and 60s for the higher terrain and 70s and 80s for the Southeastern Plains. Highs will be in the upper 30s to around 40, but winds out of the northeast at 10-15 miles per hour with gusts of around 30 miles per hour will make it feel like it's in the upper 20s to low 30s for a good part of the day.

Otherwise, Sunday will be a day where mostly cloudy conditions dominate, with the slight chance of a spotty shower or two for late in the day into the evening.

Have a great weekend.
