ASUS ZenFone 5 series revealed

We didn't get a proper chance to test out image quality, but did put the new AI scene detection to the test.

Why should you care about the ZenFones?

Asus also announced a new Zenfone 5 smartphone at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona.

Unfortunately they will be unlikely to make it to our shores officially but if you are interested hit up all the usual grey market importers and try your luck. If you are eager to know more about the phone's specs and features, following we have enlisted all the specs and features of the entire Asus ZenFone 5 series smartphones. The secondary camera s of 8-megapixel with 120-degree wide angle lens.

And they both run on Google's Android OS, which is a rival to Apple's iOS software for the iPhone. One thing to remember, though, is that the ZenFone 5 won't have the facial recognition features as found on iPhone X. Asus says it will also rely on AI to ensure that the battery life of the phone is maximised. It comes with a 2.5D curved glass, both on the front & rear, while its capacitive touch panel accommodates 10-point multi-touch with Glove Touch support. It's also surprisingly lightweight and comes with a USB Type-C port on the bottom. Power up the ZenFone, however, and you'll realise it's a completely different device.

The camera placement again is reminiscent of the iPhone X though, so if you own this device expect people to question why the UI on your Apple device looks so different. In spite of that, however, the Zenfone 5 isn't all that inconvenient to hold which is nice. The dual-cameras are aligned vertically instead of the conventional horizontal set-up seen on Asus smartphones and there's a single LED flash sitting below the dual-camera set up on the smartphone.

As noted by The Verge, Asus is making some spurious AI claims, too. As a result, blacks aren't as inky, and the phone doesn't meet mobile HDR standards.

Hating Billy Graham is in style at Teen Vogue
According to Fox News , Teen Vogue columnist Laura Duca tweeted "the big news is that Billy Graham was alive this whole time". Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen, who are devout Christians , also sent condolences to Graham's family.

At first sight, the Asus phones look promising.

Credit: AsusThe ZenFone 5Z will ship with Android Oreo, but with Asus's ZenUI laid overtop. Although, as with the ZenFone 4, the glass rear is a smudge magnet and ended up looking like a fingerprint collage after only a few minutes' use during my demo.

Now that we've settled that ZenFone 5 looks unbelievable, let's check out what technology and hardware specs it uses and see what it can do.

As for the optics, ZenFone Max Plus (M1) sports a dual camera setup at the rear and it comprises of a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel lens which is a 120-degree wide-angle camera. The Sony IMX363 should work well, especially in low light conditions, capturing five times more light than its predecessor. However, Asus hasn't mentioned the megapixel count of both the secondary cameras. You can use the emoji in video chats, live-streaming video or send them in text messages. But talking about availability the ZenFone 5z (ZS620KL) will be available in June, ZenFone 5 in April and ZenFone 5 Lite in March. You can also follow the company's social media channels to get updates from the event.

Asus isn't the only company experimenting with AI optimisations, however.
