Winter weather advisory issued for central Pa. on Sunday

According to Jeffrey Sites, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Lancaster will be on the edge of the snow and freezing rain line as it passes over the state. Now only less than 1 inch of snow is forecast for the northwestern New Jersey region. An approaching low pressure system will provide the snow. Winter weather advisories are issued when light accumulation, less than 2 inches of snow and less than a tenth of an inch of ice, are expected.

The heaviest snow will supposedly fall Sunday morning through the evening before tapering off.

Monday also will bring a chance of snow with a high of 29 and a low of 14.

Saturday afternoon: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Conditions will be cloudy with a high near 33 and a north wind of 6-9 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Moderate showers have been moving through northwest Kansas this evening. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 60.

Temps low 40s north, low 50s south. Both districts previously established Thursday as their snow dates.
