Los Angeles Chargers vs Miami Dolphins

Ex-Chargers head coach Mike McCoy once said, "Your offense is only as good as your line", and looking at the Chargers offensive line they are not pretty good.

With veteran QB Jay Cutler under center this season, the Dolphins are a bit of an unknown entity in the AFC East race.

After holding Los Angeles to a three-and-out at the start of the game, the Dolphins marched 70 yards on 13 plays to take a 3-0 lead on Cody Parkey's 30-yard field goal. However, it appears as though the team could be without one of its key defensive players on Sunday afternoon. It's been dubbed the "Epic in Miami" since in league lore. Although he did not have a great preseason, the talent is there for him to have a monster year.

The Gators will stick with Feliepe Franks at quarterback, who got his first start in the opener against MI before being benched in place of Malik Zaire.

The Chargers began the ensuing drive on their own 20-yard line with 1:01 left.

Cutler finished with 230 passing yards and one touchdown while Jay Ajayi ran for 122 yards. Strock, coming off the bench, was 29-of-43 for 403 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

The last time the Dolphins and the Chargers met up in the regular season was Week 10 of the the 2016 regular season, which resulted in a 31-24 overtime victory for the Dolphins.

Vikings promote practice squad QB amid concerns about Sam Bradford's knee
Last weekend, Haden was taken advantage of by Coleman on more than one occasion with the receiver's flashy speed. However, given Bradford's past injury history - on the left knee specifically, too - it's hard not to worry.

The longest win steak belongs to Miami who won seven in a row from December, 1995 to October, 2008.

"The thought of playing in a smaller stadium like this is better for game-day presentation and fan interaction, having a close-knit group that you can really deal with on an intimate basis throughout the game and get everyone focused on the same thing at the same time", Tamar said.

The Chargers should be able to pressure Cutler with Joey Bosa and company into a couple mistakes, just enough for a win in the home opener. He's kind of a wild card. Cutler was 13/17 on pass attempts for 75 yards in the first half. The Chargers' defense is going to struggle a lot more against this Dolphins' offense, especially with Verrett out.

Over on the Chargers' side, they're 0-1 following a tough loss to the Broncos 24-21 in Week 1.

"None", Ingram told reporters on Thursday. It took just two games with Gates catching a touchdown pass in Week 2 from Philip Rivers to get to 112 on his career.

Meanwhile, the Chargers defense got pretty much handled by the Broncos with Trevor Siemian at quarterback.
