What happened in Bill Cosby's sexual-assault trial

During the cross-examination of Andrea Constand in Bill Cosby's high-profile sexual assault trial on Wednesday, June 7, the shamed comedian's defense team attempted to expose inconsistencies in the former Temple University employee's Tuesday testimony.

In his opening statement, Cosby's defense attorney, Brian McMonagle, said, "Sexual assault is a bad crime".

Bill Cosby's lawyers sought on Wednesday at his criminal trial to portray the woman accusing him of a 2004 sexual assault as an opportunist who pursued the comedian's affections before going after his money.

"I was frozen. I was very limp", Constand said during her testimony. I wasn't able to speak without getting a buildup of white stuff around my mouth.

On one of those occasions, she said, Cosby tried to unbutton her trousers but she told him, "I'm not here for that".

Cosby allegedly assaulted Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. If found guilty, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

His lawyers tried to poke holes in Constand's story Tuesday, citing differences between her courtroom testimony and the accounts she gave to police and in a lawsuit in 2005.

"I said, 'I trust you.' I took the pills and I swallowed them down", she told the court. She said after taking the pills, "I told Mr. Cosby that I had trouble seeing him".

Constand said it took her a year to go to police because she felt intimidated.

Aidan O'Brien said of Deauville: "We're delighted with the run, Ryan (Moore ) didn't have much to say but we're delighted". Men must wear black or grey morning dress with a waistcoat and tie - but not a cravat - and a black or grey top hat.

As she described this, Cosby leaned over to talk to his lawyer, shaking his head. She recalled Cosby assisted her to a couch, placed a pillow under her neck, and with her in a stupor because of the pills he fed her, began his assault.

More than 50 women have said that Cosby assaulted them, but the statute of limitations has run out in almost all cases.

Cosby has faced allegations of sexual assault from dozens of women, though Constand's accusation is the only one to lead to criminal charges. The 44-year-old admitted that she used to call him and send him gifts as a token of appreciation for his help. "He said, 'I apologize to Andrea and I apologize to you'".

Her claim is the only one to reach court because the time limits on all the others have run out. She also said she received another call in which her daughter claimed Cosby was pressuring her boss, the comedian's agent, to get rid of her. "And I believed he supported numerous athletic programs". "And those messages didn't get there".

She said she didn't have the courage to tell her family what happened, but that it was a burden. "So I just went along with them".

Constand testified she remembers having blurred vision, saying, "I could see two of him", and that her legs were "rubbery".

While on the stand, Andrea Constand was asked why she stayed in contact with the accused. Frazier was accompanied by her husband, John Atchison, a celebrity hairstylist whose clients include Cosby and his wife, Camille. She awoke in bed next to Mr Cosby, her clothes undone, it is claimed. It seemed to be an affectionate - yet suggestive - touch, she said.

When she asked if they were herbal, he nodded, she said. "A mentor", she said. "D$3 efense attorneys have proof, including Constand's later interviews with police, in which she describes private meals with the entertainer before January 2004 and a visit to his hotel room at a CT casino". "And I felt naked". "He didn't want that", Sewell said. "He said, 'Put them down (your throat)". If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
