Warriors' Game 5 win wraps up highly-watched NBA Finals

From the Bay all the way to OKC.

On Sunday the Golden State Warriors (GSW) won the 2017 National Basketball Association (NBA) Championship after brushing aside the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 at Oracle Arena.

"Teams and franchises are going to be trying to figure out ways that they can put personnel together, the right group of guys together to be able to hopefully compete against this team".

"We did it", Durant said to his mom, the only person in the world he listens. "He's one of the best professionals I've ever been around. I'm not happy at all", said James, the first player in NBA Finals history to average a triple-double.

"For me personally, I left everything on the floor every game, all five games". But the statistic most will point to after Cleveland's loss to Golden State is James' 3-5 record record in the Finals.

"I ain't got to say nothing", Durant said, as if that was all he had to say.

The Warriors tallied 35 bench points in game five, while Cleveland managed just seven points outside their starting five.

Curry embraced Durant's arrival after the Warriors dropped last year's finals to Cleveland in seven games, an unselfish attitude that reflected Durant's desires and created an inside-outside pairing that was almost unstoppable.

Britain: Conservative Party loses majority, will need to form coalition
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she assumed Britain still wanted to leave the European Union and talks should start quickly. May formalized the deal around 1 pm June 9 at Buckingham Palace, where she asked the Queen for permission to form a government.

After a one-year stint with San Antonio in the 2015-16 season, he joined Golden State last summer and validated his decision with a win on Monday. In the National Basketball Association, though, I doubt that argument will be accepted, and for a fact, it is suspect considering how well Golden State played this year.

Curry, who had to take a backseat to accommodate Durant as the team's new alpha dog, praised his new teammate for embracing the Finals stage. West, Thompson and J.R. Smith received techs after a replay review.

James had a spectacular series, averaging 33.6 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists but it wasn't enough.

Later, he was straightforward and serious: "We were heartbroken last year, but this year was our turn". "Now we're champs again".

During the trophy ceremony, Kerr said, "I want to say a special thank you to Mike Brown and my whole coaching staff". "So we will see, but I will get away from the game a little bit".

The buzzer sounded and gold confetti began to fall.

High-profile recruit Durant was the difference as the Warriors wrapped up a 4-1 series triumph on home court in Oakland.

But after a season in which Curry and Durant both sacrificed personal accolades and attention to win a championship, it's hard to imagine either leaving in free agency. And that was just the start. Clippers forward Blake Griffin is 28, and their star point guard Chris Paul is 32, though it's unclear what each player's future is with the Clippers.
