Clippers' Griffin to Miss Rest of Playoffs with Toe Injury

Clippers forward Blake Griffin is out for the rest of the postseason with an injury to his right toe in Game 3. Redick. Griffin's injury in game 3 has only fueled that talk, as has Redick's remarkably disappointing performance in the first four games of this series.

While Rivers doesn't bolster the Clippers' thin frontcourt, he does add some playmaking and scoring ability that the team desperately needs in Griffin's absence. "The hard thing for us is when we did get some stops, they got second shots".

ABOUT THE JAZZ: Utah was in the driver's seat after a Game 1 win on the road but now knows it is one defeat away from having its back against the wall, and desperation has begun to set in.

Nearly as encouraging as Gobert's play was Derrick Favors, who bounced back from a poor Game 3 to score 17 points. They will be seeking to continue their momentum and take the series advantage. It was the first home playoff win for the Jazz in seven years. Paul has recorded 10-plus assists in every game so far this postseason, the only player to do so. Griffin is their second-best player, but he's not worth that many points.

And perhaps most notably, as I mentioned in my preview of this playoff series, Rivers' stats against the Jazz took an incredible jump during the regular season.

But James answered with his big 3-pointer, and Cleveland sealed the win on James' free throw with 1 second left. And we told him that.

"To be honest, I think he gave them more of an emotional lift than anything", Crawford said. He had 11 points, six rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes, and the team said at the time the injury was a bruised toe.

Celtics beat Bulls 108-97, take 3-2 lead in series
Bulls guard Jimmy Butler had just 14 points on six-of-15 shooting and Chicago were minus-11 with their star on the floor. Isaiah Canaan , he of the team-leading 29 "Did Not Play, Coach's Decision" designations, is the Bulls' starter.

The last issue for the Clippers going forward is depth.

Getting Austin Rivers back will be a step in the right direction. Down two starters, the Clippers are going deep into their thin bench.

"I would say if he gave us a couple of good minutes, I'm good with that", Doc Rivers said. So we've got to get guys ready for the next game. That type of playing time isn't sustainable for either player. Ingles hit the ground running when he arrived, though, and the versatile 6'8 forward has been absent from only four regular season games over a three-year period.

The Clippers won't receive any sympathy from the Jazz, who lost starting center Rudy Gobert on the first play of Game 1.

Toronto raced out to an early lead and went on to rout the Bucks 118-93, giving the Raptors a 3-2 series lead. The Warriors have been unbeatable for the Clippers the last two seasons no matter the circumstances, winning 10 consecutive head-to-head matchups.

The Clippers are by no means improved, at least not talent-wise, with Griffin gone, yet they have the means to survive in the first round. Without Griffin, the Warriors have the talent and the depth to exploit more limited Clippers lineups.
