In new book, Ivanka Trump gets serious about women at work

At last week's women's summit in Germany, presidential daughter Ivanka Trump was booed and hissed when she had the chutzpah to assert that her father is a "champion for all Americans", including women, stressing the number of women in prominent positions with whom he has worked throughout his life.

Whether they read Ms Trump's book as earnest advice or incognito marketing for the Trump name, nearly everyone who reviewed Women Who Work agreed that a lot could be gleaned about the inner workings of the Trump family. The one who mattered most to me, of course, was and still is the most capable woman I know- my mother. Amidst the suggestions and inspirational quotes, Trump divulges personal anecdotes to illustrate why or how she struggled within her own career and parenting.

Ivanka Trump during a roundtable discussion on women entrepreneurs and business leaders in the Cabinet Room of the White House in Washington. "I had a standing lunch date with Arabella every Wednesday before she started kindergarten", she writes.

"For me, there are things that remain odd, like, for example, the visit of his daughter to Germany, which was treated nearly like a world event, while the mix of politics with family and business reminds us instead of nepotism and would be unimaginable here". After growing up in the public eye, Ivanka wanted to make a name for herself on her own and meant to do so by becoming a model. "I was completely taken off guard, but awake enough by now to be extremely flattered and honored. I just wasn't willing to delay my dream of becoming a builder".

First Lady Melania Trump and their son Barron haven't moved to D.C. full time yet. And, when she chose to get into fashion, she didn't just do some research, she met with "people in the industry who had created or worked at companies I respected - Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Calvin Klein, of the established players".

Ivanka is more similar to her father than it may seem.

Bulls' Rondo fined for attempting to trip Celtics' Crowder
We just needed to play for one another, and play for the moment which is at hand being in the playoffs and have fun with it. Rondo's injury has forced Hoiberg to adjust, and there is no chance he figures this out in the next three games.

"Rewriting the Rules for Success" was released simultaneously in hardback, ebook, 497-minute audio download and CD, Donald Trump's favourite child sitting on the cover in a dark frock.

NOW: There is less colorful insight, but Trump does share a few family moments, such as practicing her speech for the Republican National Convention with her three children on the couch. Nevertheless, she only references the domestic help twice in the book-once while stating some of the best snapshots of her kids were "taken by my nanny during the day" and the other in the book's acknowledgements, when she thanks "Liza and Xixi, who are helping me raise my own children".

Ivanka Trump tried to show that she was a normal woman and close to people, but she totally missed her shot and becomes the laughing stock of social networks. Could I thrive in an environment where there were such high expectations, tied to the most personal of relationships?

Avoid the book if you hate the self-help genre, Maria Puente wrote for USA Today.

She announced her new initiative on Instagram Monday.

The article says that in her new book "Trump has gone from sassy to serious", and described her as someone that has "embraced advocacy for women".
