ACC Tournament: Preview, Bracket, Seeds, Location, Time, How to Watch

The next 3 weeks include all major conference tournaments plus the first two weekends of NCAA play, a veritable smorgasbord for college basketball fans. The inciting incident of the team's season, Syracuse defeated Miami, 70-55, at the Carrier Dome following two of the more disappointing losses in program history. Those teams would be UNC, Florida State, Louisville, Duke, Notre Dame and Virginia. Because of that, their action won't start until Thursday. They now have a 27 percent chance to earn a top spot, meaning that even a SEC tournament crown might not be enough for them to get into the top four. So let's take a look at the favorite, the contenders, and the pretenders for the ACC tournament. They have won at least one game in the ACC Tournament in the last seven seasons. OR is my current No. 2 in the West, but if either 'Zona or UCLA can win this tourney, that would likely move them into that 2-spot.

Duke shot 14 more free throws than Carolina, but the Heels made 3-of-4 while protecting their late lead and going unbeaten at home (15-0) for the third time under ol' Roy.

The Syracuse Orange have finished regular season play and now head towards what matters most: tournament play.

There are six teams that can probably be considered to be locks at this point. Kennard is the most unsafe scorer in the ACC and his 28 points matched Berry's total and kept Duke in it with stops and pops, pivots and push shots and the tried-and-true Duke tradition of drawing fouls by initiating contact (Allen is better still at it than Cool Hand Luke). Winning the ACC Tournament would solidify UNC's number one seed, but, provided they make the finals - meaning Louisville does not - they should still be a good position.

Meanwhile, Syracuse is 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games, and the over is 11-1-1 in the Orange's last 13 games following an ATS win.

And Miami may have their work cut out for them, but this Hurricane team is no slouch.

Alexis Sanchez in Arsenal row
Craig Burley can not wrap his head around why Alexis Sanchez would sign a new deal as Arsenal are trending backwards. It's not always going up". "We have to look to close the gap on the top teams and aspire to be amongst the best".

But as Duke closed a turbulent regular season with a 90-83 loss to UNC Saturday, some of the Blue Devils veterans were still a little bumpy. Assuming they win their first-round matchup against Syracuse, of course.

After the trip heard around the world against Elon, the Jacksonville, Fla., native looked determined to show he could be Duke's primary ball handler, fueling the team's 53-point rout of Georgia Tech Jan. 4 and a 27-5 first-half run against Boston College three days later with by far the best assist numbers of his career. They didn't lose again in the conference and will bring a 15-game win streak into the NCAA tournament. This means that the third-seeded Irish will have four full days of rest before they take the court on Thursday night to face the victor of Wednesday's game between Virginia and Tuesday's Georgia Tech-Pittsburgh matchup. But that depends on automatic bids from other leagues.

The most recent was Wake Forest was the most recent in 2000, with point guard Robert O'Kelley winning MVP honors.

Trailing 43-41, the team that knocked out Syracuse and Miami en route to reaching its first championship game since 2013 had found its groove.

North Carolina proved that they can adjust to the outdoor environment seamlessly after having a second consecutive successful indoors season.

Outside of the likely No. 1 seeds, the rest will be fighting for the South Region, outside of the Pac-12 teams that are all aiming for the 2-seed in the West. Grumpy was confident enough to beat Virginia to win the entire tournament.
