Alexis Sanchez in Arsenal row

Alexis Sanchez in Arsenal row

Arsene Wenger has described reports of a training-ground bust-up with Alexis Sanchez as "completely false" and is yet to decide if the Chilean will face Bayern Munich on Tuesday, while Mesut Ozil will not be fit to play.

Klopp has voiced his frustrations over Liverpool's incapability to pick up results against the likes of Leicester City, Burnley et al and suggested that the reason for their inconsistency is "sometimes quality" within the squad.

In the second half, Alexis Sanchez was brought on and that changed Arsenal completely. All these questions about one player are very distracting to our team and what it's about tomorrow.

Craig Burley can not wrap his head around why Alexis Sanchez would sign a new deal as Arsenal are trending backwards. Wenger's contract is up at the end of the season, and there still hasn't been any announcement regarding the future of the Frenchman.

"The collective performance was not good enough in the first half and that is the more rational explanation".

"Players at that level are proven but football is not about one player, it's much bigger than that", he said. From the minute he came on, Sanchez was involved and creating chances.

The Gunners were torn to shreds in the second first half, giving up a 2-0 lead. After the loss to Liverpool, they no longer are, now sitting in fifth place and without a Champions League place if the season ended today.

For Liverpool, it was the flawless way to come back after a disappointing loss to Leicester City on Monday.

Grayson Allen had one of his more memorable performances as a Blue Devil when these teams first hooked up back in early February. His ability to control the pace and organize the Tar Heels will separate a Final Four run from an early exit.

Liverpool are third in the Premier League table momentarily after beating Arsenal 3-1.

Liverpool have a fine record against the Premier League's leading sides this season, which is just about the only solace for Jurgen Klopp as he prepares for Saturday's crucial clash with Arsenal. 'If Sanchez was injured no one would say you lost because Sanchez was not there. When the week starts after Leicester everybody was angry, then we produce this performance against Arsenal.

Liverpool brought in players such as Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum and Joel Matip previous year, and Klopp acknowledged deals do not always come down exclusively to finances.

"For us, this kind of game like Liverpool is of course an opportunity that we want to take. It's not always going up".

"We have to look to close the gap on the top teams and aspire to be amongst the best".

He too could also be in contention for this week's game with Bayern, though his form in the build up to his recent absence had been less than ideal and a million miles away from his own standards, surely. It's not usual to come back like this.

"We should not forget that we are able to do things like we did today and we will work on it", Klopp told BT Sport.
