LG G6 officially unveils at MWC 2017

Earlier press renders showed off the thin bezels on LG's flagship, a trend that many of this year's smartphones are expected to follow. The phone's display takes up almost 80 percent of the entire front side, which is a nice little change but that panel isn't curved because according to LG, it would make the device very hard to grip, which is actually true.

This builds on the company's history, it is first to market, it ticks every box, and it leaves room for the uber-flagship V series to take up the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 later in the year and add even more features.

As per the official teasers, LG G6 is confirmed to boast 5.7-inch QHD+ FullVision display (2,880 x 1,440) with an 18:9 screen aspect ratio that nearly entirely fills the front of the smartphone. Before we forget, we have a quadHD+ (2880 x 1440 pixels) resolution and pixel density of 564ppi. "Standing for "High Performance User Equipment", HPUE will enable select device - starting with the G6 - to benefit from 'better coverage and faster data speeds in more places, '" Phone Arena explained. The other is a wide-angle camera. Also, this lens has F2.4 aperture.

The front of LG G6 sports a minimalistic design with no sign of the Home Button.

The feature is not earth shaking, however, it is certainly interesting to see smartphone manufacturers working hard to incorporate new, small stuff to make the overall user experience better. The 18:9 screen lets you see two flawless squares next to each other, and the concept is put to use in LG's Square Camera software, for example, which lets you see a preview of the photo you just took. It also runs a newer LG UI (user interface), especially created to take advantage of the new 18:9 aspect ratio of the display . Interestingly, the G6 is the first non-Google phone to come preinstalled with the search engine giant's Google Assistant.

It is IP68 water and dust resistance so is safe to be immersed in up to 1.5 meters of water for as long as 30 minutes. This means it is waterproof, dust-proof and rain-proof.

He further said that LG "by addressing duelling consumer demands for larger screens but yet more pocketable device, LG took on the challenge of re-imagining what a modern smartphone should look like and function ergonomically".

It is the first non-Pixel phone to come preloaded with Google Assistant.

Finally, the LG G6 is official! The Bellevue, Washington-based company didn't reveal a firm release date or pricing details regarding the LG G6, but more details on the matter will hopefully be available shortly. Although it is likely to be around Rs 50,000.
