The Audi Q8 concept gets a sloping, coupe-like roofline.
The SQ5's Quattro all-wheel-drive system will feature a rear bias under normal driving conditions, while an active torque vectoring system using the car's brakes will send "the lion's share of the power to the axle with better traction" when necessary, the carmaker says. The electric motor provides 100 kW and 234 lb-ft, the equivalent of 134 hp of power and 317 Nm of torque, to the auto.
Inside, the usual Audi switchgear has been replaced with a new "control and display" system, that replaces most buttons with large touchscreen interfaces. If you fancy one though, you'll have to wait; the model won't be in production until 2018. The concept sports 23-inch by 11-inch wide wheels, a number the production Q8 may see, though 22-inch wheels are definitely planned for the production Q8. The combustion engine is a 3.0 TFSI producing 245 kW (333 hp) and a maximum of 500 Nm (368.8 lb-ft) of torque.
Also available is adaptive steering, which offers a variable steering ratio that adjusts based on vehicle speed and the current mode of the drive modes selector. Audi waxes lyrical in its reveal of the Q8 about the design, but I'll leave it for you to decide what you think. That's mostly thanks to the 17.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, which allows the vehicle to be driven for up to 37 miles without the petrol engine running. That motor combines with the engine for a total system output of 442 hp (330 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of power.
The interior cabin is roomy and has seating for four people. With this, the top model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 5.4 seconds. But unlike many concept cars, the front and rear wheels are identical, rather than exaggerated at the rear. The battery power alone can give the Q8 a range of about 60 kilometers and can be charged up in about two and a half hours.

Amazingly, Audi refrained from adding any noteworthy self-driving tech to the auto.
Standard kit includes 20 inch alloys shod with 255/45 radials, over 350mm discs with six-piston front callipers in black or (optional) red; several different designs of 21 inch rims are available for a few dollars more.
