Thanksgiving, Black Friday sales up 9 percent

The average spending per person over Thanksgiving weekend totalled $289.19, down slightly from $299.60* a year ago. While online purchase saw a 5 million rise, brick-and-mortar stores saw a fall of 3 million compared to previous year.
