Ford Fiesta finally revealed!

The redesigned hatchback won't make its official debut until later today, so we don't have details, but the photo does show the Fiesta's new design, at least in its Europe-spec form.

In a somewhat unexpected move, the new Fiesta will also be available in Vignale guise (Ford's luxury sub-brand) and will add numerous accoutrements.

Ford unveiled its new hatch in four distinct flavours, including a Cross Polo rivalling crossover variant called the Active, featuring a slightly raised ride height, black wheel-arch mouldings and other SUV-mimicking design features. There will also be a new ST-Line trim, which has a sportier look, with alloy wheels and sports suspension, as well as a unique design of grille, front and rear bumpers and side-skirts.

And reports point to a much improved cabin ambience thanks to better materials all-round.

"The Fiesta's floating, tablet-inspired 8-inch colour touchscreen can be operated with pinch and swipe gestures". New 2017 Ford Fiesta has a new eight-inch infotainment screen to control the new SYNC 3 infotainment system. Available with three or five doors, the new vehicle is bigger than the auto it replaces.

The Fiesta has followed the trend of giving small cars a more mature appearance though it isn't radically different to current model.

Speaking during the launch, the company's head commented that they are really interested in offering more variants for their buyers.

This revamped three-cylinder, and whatever other engines end up being offered, will reportedly pair with revised versions of the 5-speed manual and 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch transmissions available now. But that's yet to be confirmed.

Benefiting from costs cuts and growing sales of higher-margin SUVs, Ford may increase profit in Europe to around $1 billion this year, on a par with its nine-month gain in the region and up from $259 million last year, a spokesman said. Featuring greater sculptured lines, sleeker wraparound headlamps and a wider grille, the new Fiesta looks more modern and polished overall.

Ford Motor Company of America has not yet revealed if the 2017 model for USA consumers will be comprised of the same four trims seen at the Cologne event for European drivers. It will be the company's first model with a premium B&O Play audio system.

The Ford Fiesta and the Mazda 2 are two vehicles that are pretty obviously way ahead of its predecessors.

With two cameras, three radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors, the new Fiesta is described by Ford as the world's most technologically advanced small auto.

Apart from Rayong in Thailand and Cologne in Germany, Ford also produces the Fiesta at Valencia in Spain, Cuautitlàn in Mexico, Sao Bernado in Brazil, Chelny in Russian Federation and Hanoi in Vietnam.
