Recounts are possible in Pennsylvania and MI as well.

Stein and Independent candidate Roque "Rocky" De La Fuente each requested a recount Friday in Wisconsin.

The deadline for requesting a recount in Pennsylvania was Monday.

Should the candidates disagree with the result of the recount, they are able to appeal in circuit court within five days of the completion of the recount. Under laws passed in MI in 2014 that are meant to make it more hard to recall lawmakers, recounts are costly for the people requesting them. Americans have been primed to believe the system isn't representative of the actual results, so the need for a recount is one of those ideas that won't simply go away now that the seed of doubt has been sowed.

Stein told NPR's Lakshmi Singh that she wasn't expecting her requests for recounts to change the outcome of the election results, but that she was pushing for them to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.

She has raised 6.3 million dollars as of Monday.

The board on Monday certified Republican Donald Trump's 10,704-vote win over Democrat Hillary Clinton out of almost 4.8 million ballots cast. The corrections were made during the regular post-election canvass of the election-night vote.

Clinton's campaign has said they will participate in the recount efforts Stein is spearheading.

"We are not doing this to the benefit of one candidate over the other", said national party official and Milwaukee activist George Martin. "This is something that benefits us all across the political spectrum".

The recount of Wisconsin's presidential vote will begin Thursday if the state receives payment on Tuesday. Wisconsin faces a federal deadline of December 13 to turn in its final presidential election tally.

Martin said there's no smoking-gun evidence of wrongdoing, but he said there's enough "peripheral evidence" to merit a recount.

Stein filed a lawsuit Monday to force a recount in Pennsylvania and said she plans to request one in MI on Wednesday. The commission will certify the recount results the following day.

Should those local recounts happen and uncover any voting irregularities or evidence of voter fraud, Stein's campaign's statewide petition is a step toward a recount of all 5.8 million Pennsylvania votes in the presidential election.

Later Sunday, the president-elect said in a series of tweets illegal votes cost him the popular vote, and charged that there was "serious voter fraud" in Virginia, New Hampshire and California.

The Republican billionaire's latest statements, in which he said he would have won the popular vote were it not for the "millions of people who voted illegally", came as steps are being taken towards recounting votes in the state of Wisconsin, which Trump won.

Stein first called for recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania last Wednesday.
