Wisconsin student accused of assaulting 3 more women

The charges against 20-year-old Alec Cook include various degrees of sex assault, as well as multiple counts of false imprisonment, strangulation and suffocation.

Cook was arrested last week when a 20-year-old woman said he attacked her in his apartment on October 12.

That woman alleged that Cook repeatedly raped her for more than two hours and strangled her to the point of near unconsciousness, WISC-TV said. Numerous misdemeanor sexual assault charges relate to women in a dance class in which Cook was a student.

In the criminal complaint, the victim reported feeling "really, really tired" and "very, very sleepy", and her vision become "very fuzzy" after Cook gave her what she believed to be either juice or water. She told police Cook choked and slapped her face against her will. Another student from the same class reported similar behavior to police.

Cook is scheduled to appear Thursday in the Dane County Circuit Court. Cook made no statement at the hearing.

His attorney, Chris Van Wagner, told the Wisconsin State Journal that he was disturbed that a "media firestorm" on social media may have prompted others to come forward, and called much of what has been said about Cook "character assassination". The rest of the encounters, they said, were consensual.

"There's nothing to support the monster that exists in the minds of all of the people of UW-Madison", Van Wagner said.

On the last occasion the two were together, they studied at the University of Wisconsin library and then went to his apartment near the campus.

Within the criminal complaint, four women alleged to have been sexually assaulted - penetrated without their consent - by Cook.

"I didn't want to ruin his life", the woman told police last week, according to the complaint. But now more victims have come forward. He started kissing her, at first lightly and then forcefully. They have one page of a notebook, which she described as "misquoted" from their previous hearing. She accused him of repeatedly touching her breasts and buttocks while they were dancing despite her telling him to stop. She estimated Cook had inappropriately touched her between 15 and 20 times throughout the semester. Cook didn't remember if he put his hands on her neck, because "sometimes I get lost in the heat of the moment". The instructor responded by speaking to the class about appropriate contact during dances.

"Your complainant believes that the book could document other victims of criminal acts".

Other statements reports WKOW included the student using statements such as "kill" "sexual desires". She told police "she felt like an object and not a person".

Yet perhaps most disarming are investigator claims regarding the entries Alec Cook kept in his diary in which he listed women by name, 'what he liked about them, ' along with 'what he wanted to do with the females'.
